In today's world, nurses are more and more confronted with patients and family members who speak a language they don't understand. Where this becomes even more of a problem is in having to interact with visiting healthcare specialists. While we do address nurses moving to a foreign country and needing to learn to be conversational in their new country [through our Nursing Language Immersion Program] the message here is that nurses often have to learn a second language just to keep up with their local environment.
Mass immigration is becoming more and more the case, and for the local nurse to converse with their patients and the family members, learning to communicate healthcare related words and phrases in another language becomes a necessity.
|
For this reason, we direct nurses to our Nursing Immersion Language Program. Right now we are developing Immersion Courses in English, Mandarin, Spanish and Vietnamese, but in the coming year we will be adding courses in all fifteen languages featured on our site.
