Veteran Redeployment Program
.

In this program, we will work with veteran's organizations to identify and assist veterans who served in military healthcare to retrain as credentialed teachers for nursing schools;

After conducting research, we determined that a principle cause of shortages of teachers in nursing schools was due to retirement of existing teachers, as well as teachers leaving for higher paying opportunities. We concluded that the problem will only get worse as the "baby boomers" enter retirement. In further research, we found that many military healthcare workers who separate do not pass their licensing exams, or even attempt them, and leave healthcare.

We are currently refining our plan to redeploy former military healthcare workers to become credentialed teachers for nursing schools. In addition, we are building contact information for all southern California nursing schools and starting to contact them to arrange meetings regarding their participation in our program. Further, we are researching the specific class requirements needed and the costs of those classes, along with the amount of coverage the GI Bill will cover for each candidate in the program.

Starting in the United States, it is our vision with this program to build a system that can be replicated and applied all over the world to identify prior military healthcare workers and give them the option to retrain as instructors for nursing schools in their home country. We will also set up a system to identify the nursing schools that have existing or pending instructor shortages and take action to find veterans from our program to fill those vacancies.
